Residents of the Los Angeles neighborhood of Highland Park have been receiving Uber Eats food deliveries that no one has ordered in the past three weeks.[0] The deliveries arrive at all hours of the day, with mostly McDonalds, Taco Bell and Starbucks meals. Residents have tried calling the phone numbers attached to the orders, but the numbers were disconnected.[1]
Uber Eats is looking into the source of the unwanted orders and has taken action against several accounts.[2] An Uber spokesperson said they will monitor orders sent to the Range View Avenue area. Residents are happy that each of the orders included tips for the delivery people.[1]
When asked if he liked the sandwiches, one resident replied, “I don’t know how I feel about them now. They haunt my dreams.”[1] The mystery of the unwanted deliveries has unsettled the community, leaving them in a state of confusion and uncertainty.
